At the Moscow exhibition, this Hyundai Sonata not only the new Russian public, but this concept with a strange name. A concept that announcement very faithfully the next generation of compact, known as the Accent and Verna in different countries. The RB Concept probably derives its name from “Russian Built,” as the production vehicle will be the first to be assembled in the manufacturer’s new plant in St Petersburg. The production is already scheduled for January 2011.
Specifically, the RB is a very close relative of Hyundai Verna unveiled in Beijing last spring. The lines are indeed very similar, but differ in reality for the front. The RB takes indeed a very different face, with optics and a smaller grille closer to that of other Hyundai models offered in Europe.
Customers can choose between two Russian engines, Family Range: 1.4 or 1.6 of the 107ch/135Nm 124ch / 156Nm, with either 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic. A 5-door should also make an appearance later on this model, but will not necessarily be offered on the Russian market.
