Bang & Olufsen BeoSound 8

After seeing him on the card we tested BeoSound Live 8, a new system dedicated to audio quality iPhone (including iPhone and iPod case with 4) and iPad but used with a nearly infinite range of devices with the ability to connect an MP3 player or via a phone jack and a computer (PC or Mac) via USB.

Designed to be used by all, this system integrates an audio switch to automatically set the configuration parameters according to the positions they corner, wall or barrier-free. Other features that shows the address to a wider audience with the included remote is the possibility of using the B & O remote control for existing customers.

Seen live, BeoSound 8 offers a clean design and nice, especially in the form and suitable for all rooms with the paintings interchangeable (pair costs 44 € and is available in black, white, yellow, purple or lavender blue).

The only part that I was not convinced the design is back, too plastic and flat, although it is usually a side that should remain hidden. In this part we also find the door with connections.

Passing the test live BeoSound 8 is activated by simply connecting an iPhone or iPad and uses a dedicated application available in the free version (with basic functions and a limited number of web radios) or paid (and more complete package with all the web radio).

The audio is excellent, whether with an Apple device with an MP3 player or PC the quality is definitely high. Maximizing the volume the sound is not subject to distortion and the speakers will not croak, though, the proof, the impression is that the maximum volume is a bit ‘lower than other similar devices, notably the Philips we are trying to Fidelio review (of course the comparison is difficult because on the audio 8 BeoSound we tried it for a few minutes only and not with the model of Philips).

With the different kinds with which we tested, BeoSound behaved very well, returning a rich sound in the bass without using the equalizer.

Bang & Olufsen BeoSound 8 is available at € 995, a figure that includes support for hanging on the wall. Of course, the price is not for everyone, but from our brief test, it seems that the quality of the product to be undisputed. After the jump are more pictures and specifications.
