Full CES One Laptop Per Child foundation uses its own official blog to announce some interesting news on the new XO-1.75: the touchscreen and the ARM processor class. The new model will have a 8.9 inch touch display, processor, 1GHz CPU Marvell Armada and a motherboard (pictured right) capable of a power consumption of just 2 watts. Performance aside, the touchscreen is the most important news in perspective, the OLPC Foundation itself is said to enthusiastic about giving children the opportunity to interact with XO without using mouse and keyboard, providing a more natural with the device.
XO-1.75 will be released in the second quarter of 2011, the next generation XO-3, will arrive in 2012 but will be a tablet with a 9.7-inch screen. Since the main problem encountered by the project is the energy, hard to find the netbook to reload, it works to bring it to the order of 1 watt power consumption.
