Asus and Acer Intel Oak Trail

It seems that Asus and Acer have “snubbed”the efforts to promote the use of Intel processors, the new Oak Trail on the tablet, which have seen an effort to cut chip prices, now brought to a figure very close to that of Nvidia Tegra 2 . According to Digitimes, the producers are reluctant in adopting Oak Trail into their devices, a little ‘because from the point of view of performance than the Nvidia solution, a little’ because, it seems, already available in September will be the successor of Oak Trail, or Cedar Trail-M.

Currently Intel has received orders from Fujitsu, Toshiba and Samsung, with which it will adopt its platform in particular Sliding PC 7. Acer and Asus are going ahead with Tegra 2 (the tablet has an Intel Core Asus EP121-i5, but addresses a different target), but if there may be second thoughts if Intel were to descend to the price of Oak Trail (now at 40 dollars).
