We’re not used to signal the presentation or marketing of hard disk enclosure, or products that are in fact “shells” for hard drives designed to offer users the ability to buy or recycle a hard disk and make it an external drive. Designed to accommodate 2.5-inch drive, whether they are normal drive or SSD, ZM-200 combines a hardware / software system that will allow the unit to operate as a virtual disk directly, without user intervention.This translates into the ability for the user to create the ISO from your CD or DVD, copy images contained in the ZM-VE200 and behave as though it physically with their own CD or DVD, including of course those games, operating systems and so on. Not only that the unit has a small LCD panel that displays the ISO contained.
The PC connection is via the USB 2.0 or eSATA, while the availability is expected in March 2011 with a retail price of 34,50 Euro including VAT. It is a figure higher than normal enclosure, but which finds its justification in the integration of the display of the interesting features of the virtual disk. We are curious to try this unit, at least to clarify some doubts concerning the possibility to use it as a CD / DVD boot, whatever the system used, as suggested by the potential of virtual disk “hardware” integrated.
