Unlike almost everyone, the other manufacturer, Ricoh has been waiting for the closing of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2011 to formalize the public the future availability of a new camera, we refer to the Ricoh CX5, technological evolution of the already CX4 list in time to trace most of the technical characteristics.

It is also why the CX5, like its predecessor, it features the much-appreciated back-illuminated CMOS sensor with a resolution of 10 megapixels and a 10.7x optical zoom lens (equivalent to 28 to 300 mm in the traditional format of 35 mm) for good any occasion, from extreme close-ups to panoramic pictures.


The news comes mainly from the focus now entrusted to Hybrid AF system that ensures superior performance on one fitted on the CX4 much to be faster and accurately. The management and processing of images is instead entrusted to the Smooth Imaging Engine IV processor, which has among its main advantages that significantly reduce the noise.

Like almost all new generation of cameras, CX5 also records video in high definition (1280 x 720 pixels) and is also equipped with HDMI connector to review photos and video on compatible HD TVs. Available at the beginning of next month, will have a suggested retail price should be around 300 € taxes included.
