After the launch of 11 beta earlier this month, Mozilla leave in February with the release of version 12 beta of Firefox 4.0. The update, this release is the last beta before the release of Release Candidate, a browser almost complete and final. The update is full of remedies for over 700 bugs and patches. Since the beginning of beta, and thanks to feedback from the community have been corrected more than 7000 vulnerabilities that allowed the gradual shift to a higher stage of development.
In the list of bugs now resolved, we recall the memory consumption with excessive use of the JavaScript engine. The memory usage did not decrease even after the closure of the browser tabs. Firefox beta 4 12 thus brings a number of general improvements on stability, performance and compatibility. We stress, however, that Beta 12 greatly improves the playback of Flash content and compatibility with plugins when hardware acceleration is active. We approach the meantime, the final release that will bring major changes from previous versions.
In terms of usability, you can see a change from the previous beta. When you touch a link with your mouse cursor, hide the url is shown in the bottom left corner of the window rather than in the address bar.
