SSD Seagate GoFlex Slim for Notebook

Seagate announces the availability of new handset GoFlex Slim 2.5-inch external drive, only 9 mm high, designed thinking to the new generation of ultra mobile PCs and netbooks. Previewed at CES in Las Vegas, in January 2011, the new high-performance drives GoFlex Slim will soon be available in stores and online at selected retailers. Thanks to an ultra-stylish and at a height of only 9 mm, 38% less than the current ultra-portable GoFlex, the new unit GoFlex Slim has a thickness similar to that of a pencil: Slim gets GoFlex easily in your pocket, purse or backpack to carry, access, and play digital content anywhere, making it the ideal companion for mobility. Slim GoFlex incorporates a drive from 7,200 rpm combined with USB 3.0 interface, which allows it to reach transfer speeds of up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0.

This innovative super-slim unit provides quick access to large multimedia files such as high-definition movies and video games: the increased speed of the interface takes full advantage of Plug-and-Play USB 3.0 included, while maintaining compatibility with USB 2.0 ports. The portable unit GoFlex Slim can also be inter-exchanged between Windows and Mac computers, without having to reformat and without loss of data. In addition, the backup software included with the unit, provides automatic and continuous backup features as well as tools for encrypting files and folders.
