AMD has officially launched the Radeon HD 6790, mid-range graphics solution in the best way to replace the popular Radeon HD 5770 and comes close in terms of performance, the Radeon HD 6850. The specifications published a few days ago have been confirmed, with the exception of the TDP, which has a higher than expected (150 Watts as the older sister). Very interesting is the price: 129 €, a figure slightly higher than the GeForce GTX 550 Ti, but justified by the clear superiority over the competitor NVIDIA.
In almost all tests, in fact, the AMD card is a winner, finishing in some cases on the GeForce GTX 460 (768 MB version). The Radeon HD 6790 also shows higher overclocking margins. Using the AMD Overdrive software can increase the frequencies of GPU and memory, respectively, up to 1 GHz and up to 5,200 MHz, achieving performance similar to Radeon HD 6850.

The board therefore represents the best buy for the mid-range, considering the support for Blu-ray and 3D acceleration technology Eyefinity, with which it is possible configurations of up to five monitors, thanks to the presence of two mini-releases Display Port, two DVI outputs and an HDMI output.
