A few days ago had declared that the next NVIDIA architecture Kepler to 28 nanometers would be announced later this year. Now, however, comes from the same company for clarification on the actual availability on the market. The first GeForce 600 video cards will be on sale until early 2012.
Chris Malachowsky, cofounder of Santa Clara, had spoken to the start of the distribution of the GPU to the end of the year. However, as hypothesized, it will only announced the completion of the development of graphics chips. Ken Brown, spokesman for NVIDIA, said:
While the first chips will arrive this year, the production of products based on the architecture Kepler is currently scheduled for 2012. We want to clarify so that people do not expect solutions available already this year.
No clear reasons for this delay, but probably there were problems with the new production process or any mistakes in the design phase. At this point it seems that AMD has open field and, once again, be the first company to market GPU manufactured with a more refined process technology. The Radeon HD 7000 architecture based Southern Islands should be on sale between September and October, although initially there will be a few video cards in stores.
