Pay becomes increasingly technological with Google Wallet. For a long time there was talk of the NFC, thanks to which you can make payments using just our cell phone. Now Google has launched its personal app, called Wallet (English for “portfolio”), whereby you can make payments on the fly with the freedom of being able to also forget your wallet at home. But is it really that effective?
Let’s be clear: to work, Google Wallet works. The trouble is that to use this app, which makes it physically in memory of your credit cards and, if desired, can make one (they’re coming to the Google card). Moving the phone close to a specific player, you made ??the payment without even the need to sign the receipt, how some credit cards today in Italy.
What is the problem that, momentarily, make us skeptical of this innovation? Well, except that when the software is only available for the 4G mobile Nexus S, but soon the service will be expanded to other NFC phones, more and more common, the problem are the readers. Yeah only in America Google Wallet can be used only in San Francisco and New York. Considering how these technologies forward in the States, ask yourself how likely we are to see in Italy, as you can see in the video, a taxi with the NFC reader?
Surely the technology of Google Wallet is exciting and very innovative, but we think that the infrastructure that needs to be a bit ‘exclusive of the United States. In Italy, where sometimes it happens that even the ATM is not working, we are a bit ‘skeptical. Happy to be proven wrong, though.
