Last week, Intel has begun shipping new versions of the Atom CPU D2500 and D2700, addressed to the nettop. Today, however, came new details on Intel Cedar Trail, but this time concerning the values ??of maximum thermal dissipation (TDP) of these CPUs, including those aimed at netbooks and designated by the letters Intel Atom N2600 and N2800. So the first will have a clock rate of 1.6 GHz, which can go up to 1.86 GHz, with a maximum TDP of less than 3.5 W, while Atom N2800 will start at 1.86 GHz and up to 2.13 GHz with a TDP of less than 6.5 W.
As we know, but D2500 and D2700 desktop models will operate respectively at 1.86 GHz (2.13 GHz) and 2.13 GHz (2.4 GHz), both with a TDP of 10W. But the most striking and power consumption values ??for netbooks average versions, in particular the model Atom N2600 can operate with less than 1.1 W, while Atom N2800 reached 1.89 W. For the rest as we all know the new Atom Cedarview will have 1 MB of L2 cache, support for up to 4 GB of RAM DDR3 800 or 1066 MHz, Intel Wireless Music Technologies, Intel Wirless Display (Widi), Blue- Ray 2.0 and DisplayPort video connections, and type will be built with 32 nm lithographic system.
At the moment however there are still no official confirmation of the failure to support DirectX 10.1 by the graphics subsystem that will be integrated into these new Atom. However, according to some rumors circulating on the Internet, the problem would exist and would be linked to a delay, however, particularly in the development of appropriate drivers to support the functions of Microsoft libraries from Intel, which could then get to support a second time because, from the hardware point of view, these core functions would be supported by the PowerVR SGX545 that, in the absence of official denials, the component should still be behind the new Intel IGP. In any case, the debut is now so close, and soon Intel may also send out the official press release, shedding light on the real situation.
